Youngtherm Glass Wool Base is a high performance thermal and acoustic insulation solution designed for flat roof ceiling systems. It provides reliable thermal resistance, effective sound absorption, fire safety compliance and long term durability across a wide range of building applications.

Manufactured from lightweight glass wool fibres bonded with a non combustible binder, Youngtherm® Glass Wool supports energy efficient buildings while improving indoor comfort and fire performance.

The insulation is suitable for residential, commercial and light industrial buildings, particularly in structures with large roof spans or flat roof ceiling systems where both thermal control and acoustic performance are required.

THERMAL AND ACOUSTIC PERFORMANCE

Youngtherm® Glass Wool insulation improves the energy performance of buildings by reducing heat transfer through roof assemblies.

The insulation layer provides conductive thermal resistance which limits heat gain during hot weather and reduces heat loss during colder periods. This contributes to improved energy efficiency and more stable indoor temperatures.

In addition to thermal performance, the glass wool structure provides effective sound absorption. This improves acoustic comfort in large open interior spaces such as offices, warehouses and industrial buildings where noise control is important.

FIRE PERFORMANCE

Youngtherm® Glass Wool is classified as a non combustible insulation material and complies with recognised fire performance standards, including:

  • A1-s1,d0 non combustible classification
  • SANS 53501-1 fire performance requirements

These fire performance characteristics allow the insulation to be used in both single level and multi level buildings where compliance with fire safety standards is required.

​INSTALLATION:

Typical installation steps include:

  • Measure the spacing between roof trusses
  • Cut the insulation to size while still in the packaging
  • Roll the insulation between the roof trusses
  • Lay insulation beneath electrical wiring where required
  • Cut neatly around downlights and ceiling fittings
  • Use off cuts to wrap exposed piping if required 

Correct installation ensures optimal thermal and acoustic performance.
